What Is YouTube Automation?

YouTube automation (aka cash cow channel) is a process of delegating all the tasks to create a video. Or in other words, outsourcing.

It’s a task where you need to hire a scriptwriter, voice-over artists, a video editor, and a graphic designer to design the thumbnail.

The process of YouTube automation is not always easy to do. You need to find the right freelancers that will suit your needs and requirements.

There are many different options available out there which makes it hard to choose the best one for your specific needs.

Furthermore, there are a lot of different tasks that go into creating a video, and it can be difficult to find the time to do them all.

That’s why YouTube automation is gaining in popularity. It takes all of the hassles out of video production by delegating the tasks to people who specialize in each area.

5 Ways To Make Money With YouTube Automation

Let’s not beat around the bush and cut to the chase now, shall we?

1. YouTube Partner Program

Joining the YouTube Partner Program is a great way to increase your reach and monetize your video.

To qualify, you need to make sure you’re following all of YouTube’s monetization policies and have 1000 subscribers and 4000 total watch time on your channel.

Among the methods of making money on YouTube, I consider this to be the most popular. Moreover, it’s one of the most passive ways to profit from this platform.

Why? This is because you do not need to do the job every day.

However, bear in mind that you need to create top-notch content, get qualified for the program, and watch the money rolling in the “Revenue” tab of your YouTube dashboard.

How To Join the YouTube Partner Program

Considering that you have met all the requirements I outlined earlier, you can then apply for the program. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Click your YouTube profile (right top corner) and select YouTube Studio.
  2. In the left navigation pane, click the Monetization tab.
  3. If you’re eligible, there should be a blue button at the bottom of this page. Click that button.
  4. Review the terms and conditions.
  5. Connect your Google Adsense account (set up your Adsense account here in case you don’t have it).
  6. Finally, YouTube will review your channel and will notify you via email of the outcome.

One bad news: There’s a chance that YouTube might reject your application. This happens, but don’t worry – reapply in 30 days. YouTube provides reasons in the rejection email, so stay positive and fix what needs to be changed.

How To Enable Monetization on YouTube

This is the step that you are going to love! Once you’re approved, here are the simple steps to follow to start making money from your YouTube videos:

  1. Go to YouTube Studio.
  2. Click Content from the left menu.
  3. Select which video you wish to monetize.
  4.  In the left menu, click Monetization.
  5. Select the type of ads you would like to run.
  6. Finally, click the Save button.

Besides making money with the advertising revenue, the following are the other ways to make money in the YouTube Partner Program:

1. Channel memberships – Your fans receive exclusive benefits every month for their ongoing financial support

2. Merch shelf – Your fans can buy your merch by visiting your watch pages. There’s also another method that we can use which I will cover later.

3. Super Chat & Super Stickers – Your fans pay so that their messages show up more prominently than the other ones in chat streams.

4. YouTube Premium Revenue – Get a cut of YouTube Premium subscribers’ subscription fee when they watch your videos

There you have it. Here’s a small nugget of advice. Just try making sure your video content complies with YouTube’s guidelines. You don’t want to find out your channel was demonetized.

That’s how you can rub your day in the dirt and yoink away at the hunger to swallow those perfectly crispy waffles.

2. Sell Products / Merchandise

Selling merch like t-shirts, mugs, snapbacks, and phone cases on your channel can make you money and increase viewership at the same time. It puts you in a position to market and grow more fans.

Serve your fans directly to their hearts by putting your personal touch on the designs you offer. It can also help you create unique content for your videos, depending on what you’re selling and how creative you are!

Investment: You’ll need a clear understanding of what each item costs. You’ll need a physical store where people can purchase items.

But..

That would take a lot of work off your plate.

Shopify and Printful

Therefore, I recommend that you start your e-commerce website with Shopify and a print-on-demand provider such as Printful. Shopify is a reliable platform to start an e-commerce business. It’s easy to use and has all the tools you’ll need.

You can also use Printful for your print-on-demand needs, which will allow you to create beautiful products and not worry about inventory or shipping, fulfillment, and customer support.

They offer a service that will save you time and make it easier to sell your products online.

Let me try to explain this in a way that might make more sense to you. If you choose that option, do you think it will be as easy as just creating a site and then connecting it with a POD provider?

To create everything they say will be quick, I think it would take more time than cracking peanuts.

In this case, you may want to go with the second option, which is to start your merch store with a print-on-demand site like Redbubble. This is a particularly good option as it doesn’t have any upfront costs and can be a more lucrative strategy.

Note: If you want to learn more about Redbubble and a step-by-step guide on how to run a successful Redbubble store, check out this previous blog post of mine “How To Sell On RedBubble (Ultimate Guide)”.

Tips and tricks to sell products via YouTube:

  • Make sure your video ends with a call to action.
  • Keeping your video under 5 minutes is a good idea.
  • Ensure that your thumbnail image is attractive enough to pique people’s interest.
  • In your video descriptions, include links to your other social media accounts for viewers to follow.

Nevertheless, it doesn’t matter which way you choose to start selling merch on your channel. They’re both great options and it all comes down to what you’re more comfortable with.

3. Affiliate Marketing

The word ‘affiliate marketing‘ has probably shown up a lot in my blog. However, if that word sounds alien to you, here’s a brief definition of it.

Affiliate marketing is a business model where an affiliate earns commissions from the sale of other companies’ products.

It is the easiest and most stress-free way to make money on YouTube. So, if you are not considering making money with the YouTube Partner Program or selling merch, this is probably your best option.

As an affiliate marketer, you would promote a product or service by linking to it with your unique affiliate link. Whenever somebody buys something using that link, you earn a commission within the company’s guidelines.

There are many different affiliate marketing platforms for making money on YouTube.

One such platform is called ClickBank or ShareASale which has lots of merchants from across the world available to choose from to partner with and earn commissions from promoting their products or services through your channel.

Tips for affiliate marketing:

1. Include the Affiliate Disclosure to Your Viewers.

Disclosures of affiliate links are a common practice for advertisers. It lets your viewers know that you may receive a commission if they purchase through your link. It is a good idea to provide transparency for your viewers.

You can use the following sentence: “I may receive an affiliate commission if you choose to purchase through my link”.

2. Try and Partner With Multiple Affiliates To Diversify Your Income.

By partnering with multiple affiliates, you can diversify your income and it is more likely to gain traction because it will have more content. In addition, if one of the affiliates has a better conversion rate than the others, then you will receive more revenue from them!

3. Understanding How To Create Relationships With Your Audience Is Key.

Your audience is the foundation of your success. Without a good relationship with them, you’ll never be able to build a name for yourself or make any progress.

When you are more personable and open to feedback, your audience will strengthen their trust in you and will make them want to engage further with your content.

4. Join an Affiliate Program for Products That Your Audience Recommends.

There are many different programs you can join, but the best affiliate programs are those that are related to your target audience.

Joining affiliate programs for products unrelated to your audience will not provide you with substantial income. Thus, sign up with an affiliate program to get paid commissions on the products your audience recommends.

5. Compliment Your YouTube Channel With a Blog.

There are two major players on the internet: Google and YouTube. For this reason, a blog is a great companion for your YouTube channel to boost your audience. It’s also a great place to experiment with different topics and formats.

Did you know that you could actually take a blog post and turn it into a video? You can use a tool called InVideo and engage your audience in an even more interactive way.

4. Brand Deals

YouTube has been an important part of a lot of brands’ marketing strategies for a long time now. Brands often promote their products through sponsored videos or commercial content on YouTube automation channels.

The sponsored videos get high viewership because people believe that the content is more credible than ads that are run on TV and other digital media platforms.

So for those of you with a lot of subscribers, the brands will sometimes contact you as they have products that would go great on your channel.

A few other possibilities would be:

  • the brands are looking for someone to create sample footage of their product
  • they want to sponsor the video
  • or they want to use the video’s content to promote their own business

Here are some of the companies that can help you connect with brands for excellent partnerships.

  • TapInfluence
  • YouTube BrandConnect
  • Upfluence
  • Makrwatch
  • Grapevine
  • Shoutcart

Bear in mind that this monetization method will require some time and effort as it takes quite a while to build up a significant number of engaging subscribers.

5) Fan Funding

Collecting enough views and subscribers to get on the YouTube Partner Program can be tough. It might bend your will and prevent you from starting a sustainable income.

The need for more money to support content on YouTube automation channels has led many YouTubers to look for other means of financing, such as Patreon.

They’ve found that this can help them better produce content and make YouTube an actual full-time career.

Fans of YouTubers can donate to their favorite creators in exchange for a regular supply of content. It’s been enthusiastically adopted by YouTube creators and viewers alike who are looking for a way to support their favorite talent.

Over on the red side of the boxing ring, you’ll find Buy Me a Coffee– considered by many to be the #1 Patreon alternative out there. It is a way that allows content creators to receive tips or thank yous from those who enjoy their content.

Buy Me a Coffee offers great features that are unmatched by any other platform. Have a quick look at their features:

Buy Me a Coffee Comparison with Patreon

Instead of asking your audience for donations or ‘become my patron’, why not ask them to buy you a coffee? It sounds like an easy way for everyone to have fun and will be even more satisfying for you.

Side Note: I don’t know if it’s been the extra cups of joe or the muscle twitching from sleep deprivation, but I feel like I might be on to something! If you want more content that will benefit your business, why don’t you buy me one of that coffee so I can keep on racking my brain juice and cranking out interesting content?

Step-by-Step on How To Start With YouTube Automation

This is where you’re probably wondering how to get started with the YouTube automation channel. Let’s start rolling!

Step 1: Find a niche

Finding your niche on YouTube can be difficult, but, if you’re willing to put in the time and effort, it’s not impossible. The key is to find a topic that you feel passionate about and know a lot about.

There are many different things to consider when picking a niche on YouTube and if you follow these guides, it should lead to success in finding the right niche that will allow your channel to be successful.

Tips on how to choose the best YouTube niche:

1. Choose a Niche That Interests You.

The first step to picking the right niche is to choose one that you are passionate about. This will make it easier for you because it will be more likely that you have the motivation necessary to succeed in the niche.

For example, if you were passionate about cars, finding a car-related YouTube channel would be a great place to start. If you were passionate about animals, finding a YouTube channel that covers animal news would be another great choice.

2. Get To Know Who Your Niche Target Audience Is.

Knowing your audience will ensure that your content is relevant to them and meets their needs. Think about how you can create content that will resonate with your audience.

3. Is Niching Down Necessary?

The only problem with YouTube is that it reaches a large number of people with different interests. Thus, expanding into more specific niches can be beneficial. But if you think that getting a more specific niche would limit content creation, then it’s safe to say that’s not the way to go about it.

4. How Is the Competition of Your Niche?

You’re not the only one interested in your niche. There are probably millions of other YouTubers who already have channels with millions of viewers in that niche.

One of the best ways to stand out as a content creator is by seeing what other successful YouTubers in your niche are doing and seeing how you can improve on those aspects.

5. Is This Niche Profitable Enough for You?

One of the biggest struggles creators face is monetizing their videos and making money from them. It can be a lot of work to grow your channel, find sponsors and make creative content that people actually want to watch.

And I strongly believed that many people who start their YouTube channels want to monetize them right away and make a living from their videos. Thus, if you want to earn a stable income on YouTube, it’s crucial that the niche you choose can do so.

Here are 5 most profitable niches:

  • Health
  • Business
  • Finance
  • Real Estate
  • Online Marketing

Step 2: Setup Your Channel

To create a channel, follow the guide below:

  • Sign in to YouTube with your Google account.
  • Click your profile picture and select Create a channel.
  • It will ask you to create a channel.
  • Check all the details and click confirm to create your channel.

One thing I would like to emphasize is to come up with a channel name that is catchy but not too complicated.

You should avoid using any names that already exist as this can cause confusion among potential viewers and make it difficult for them to find your videos in the future.

On top of that, it’s important not to include any words or symbols that are prohibited by YouTube (e.g., profanity). Finally, get a logo and create a banner that will convey what your channel is all about to new viewers.

Step 3: Hire a Scriptwriter To Write Your Content

This is where automation kicks in. Most YouTube channels out there are outsourcing the process to create videos for them. That’s what you’ll be doing if you start your own YouTube automation channel.

Choose a topic for your video. Then, find a freelance site (such as Fiverr, Upwork, Freelancers) that gives you access to freelancers. Then search for a scriptwriter on the site who specializes in your niche.

This would increase the chance of getting a well-written script that can easily capture your audience’s attention.

Step 4: Hire a Good Voice Over Artist

Once you have your script written, the next step is to find a voice-over artist. There are a number of different options for how to go about hiring one.

If you want to use a female voice with an accent from one particular country, be sure that you narrow down your search filters.

Tips to choose a voice-over artist:

  • Have a look at their sample work.
  • Check the testimonial of their previous clients.
  • Are they suitable for storytelling or presenting kind of style?
  • Choose the right accent for your targeted audience.
  • Do they have good pacing?
  • Versatility. Can they change their tone accordingly?
  • Voice range. Do they have a low tone or high tone voice?

Step 5: Hire a Professional Video Editor

You have a script and voiceover recording ready – now it’s time to put it all together.

It’s the video editor’s job to combine the voiceover recording with stock footage videos and include some nice sound effects, graphics, and special effects.

Honestly, this is the most important step for me. Why? Copyright issues. It’s crucial for a video editor to use free copyright stock footage.

My advice; try to hire a video editor that focuses on automation or cash-cow channels.

Copyright law is a really big topic and not something you should wanna play around with.

Step 6: Hire a Graphic Designer To Design Your Thumbnail

In the media business, it’s all about mastering a good first impression.

Get a graphic designer to design a thumbnail that people will love because it will get them excited about watching your content and make your channel more visible on YouTube.

On YouTube, you want your thumbnail to be a creative and engaging way of displaying your video. You want it to catch people’s attention, grab their interest, and entice them to click on the play button.
